Singapore Part 2

Day 2: Universal Studios

Okay folks, here’s a quick review on some of the thrills and spills that await you at Universal Studios Singapore. The Universal Studio is the only Hollywood movie theme park in Singapore and I should say the place is simply INCREDIBLE! The place features several Dream Works Animation-themed attractions, including the characters from the Shrek and Madagascar films, as well as a Battlestar Galactica-themed twin roller coaster i think? which was a good choice. I must say the owners have done a good job! The place has lots of great rides that it ended us all confused where to ride first. Hahaha! Dinosaurs, lemurs, ogres and Egyptian mummies add to the thrills and adventures. I tell you this will be an experience that you will not forget in Singapore. Lasting memories are made.

Let’s dive in on the photos!

The iconic blue globe with the words Universal Studio encircling it greeted us at the main podium just before the ticket entrance.

Far Far Away

Step into the twisted fairytale world of Shrek. The ride to watch here is Shrek 4D Adventure. With the help of 3D glasses, the characters were pretty much popping outta the screen toward you all the time, and when the donkey sneezes, you will feel it, literally.

Such a nice entrance for the Shrek 4D Show. Who wouldn’t be excited to enter such beautiful castle?

PRE SHOW. We are led into a dungeon-like room with two giant television screens on either side. On the screen, the ghost of Lord Farquaad, who escaped the mouth of the dragon, announces that he has kidnapped the 3 little pigs, Gingerbread man and Pinocchio and is holding them hostage.

I have no pictures inside the theater since it’s prohibited.

Lost World

This zone is created based on Stephen Spielberg phenomenal movie, Jurassic Park. The Lost World divided into two smaller regions : Jurassic Park and Waterworld.

1. Water World

Entering the Water World! 😀 It is a life recreation of the movie with performers executing stunts on jet skis, fist fights and lots of pyrotechnics. Now, who wants to get soaking wet?

Singapore Part 1

Singapore City is one of the most livable city in Asia. I’ve been to Singapore twice and the city never fails to surprise me no matter what. Our last visit was in 2008 and I am beyond amazed by the new changes that have been happening in SG between 2008 and 2012. The city has lots of development such as the Universal Studios, Marina Bay Sands and many more tourist spots.

It was a beautiful day upon our arrival in Singapore after a couple of days of massive cold weather in Beijing (I thought I’d die of the freezing point. -13 Celsius was too cold for me) Finally, there was sunshine all over the city of Singapore. No more cold mornings, dark evenings, grey skies and hot puddings or soup.

We arrived in Changi International Airport on a late night and this time, we waited for our relatives to arrive from New York CIty (Aunt Lani and Uncle Jun) who would be joining the fun with us.

Teehee. Our snacks inside the plane 😉

We arrived at our hotel in the middle of the night and it surely was a tiring trip. As soon I was done unpacking, I, without a doubt fell on my bed, took a big sigh, dropped my mobile, pulled my blanket over me and soon fell asleep.

Day 1: Marina Bay Sands Skypark

We woke up early in the morning to refrain from being barbecued by the scorching sun at the top of the building of Marina Bay Sands. So, if you’re planning to visit the place, go there early in the morning because during midday it would be so HOT!

At the lobby while waiting for the driver to pick us up.

Approaching Marina Bay Sands Skypark. Look at that building shaped like a ship across 3 towers! 🙂 Anyways, they said that this building has become one of the iconic symbol of this city.

Upon entrance, you would see a very big, beautiful fountain as you go inside. You won’t be able to point the fountain in this picture, don’t you? Let me give you a closer look.

image

Yhup! The Water Wall Fountain! There’s this straight, thin metals moving as the water pours down.

Off to the ticketing booth!

Once you reached to the top this will be the first view that you will see. Breathtaking, isn’t it? View from the top is just as impressive as from the bottom of the Marina where you can see such other famed sights as the floating soccer field.

Look at that beauty!
